A teenage student at Thibodaux High School has been charged for a bomb scare on Wednesday, according to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre and School Superintendent Jarod Martin. The school resource officer was informed of a handwritten bomb threat on a bathroom stall door around 11 a.m., September 27, 2023.

Authorities from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Thibodaux Police Department, and Louisiana State Police worked together to evacuate and conduct a thorough search of the school. No explosives or suspicious items were found, and students were dismissed early.

During the investigation, a 15-year-old male student was identified as a suspect, detained, and later charged with terrorizing. He is currently held at the Juvenile Justice Facility in Thibodaux.
