Suspect Wanted For Second Degree Battery After Fight at Houma Bar

On November 12th, 2021 at approximately 12:16a.m. the Houma Police Department responded to a disturbance at Joni B’s Bar located at 319 Howard Avenue. As officers arrived they were attempting to separate several females that were fighting in the parking lot. During the altercation a female suspect whom was identified as Michelle Smith b/f 36 years old of 208 Leslie Street began to bite the ear of one of the responding officers.

During the struggle Michelle Smith completely bit a large portion of the right ear completely off and she fled the area before she could be apprehended. The officer was transported to a local medical facility where he underwent treatment and is currently recovering from the injury.

After further investigation a warrant for the Arrest of Michelle Smith has been obtained in reference to one count of Second Degree Battery.

The Houma Police Department would now like to ask for the assistance from the public with locating Smith and anyone with information is asked to contact the Houma Police Department at 985-873-6371.
