Suspect Arrested in Bayou Vista Burglary Case

Morgan City resident Bobby Joe Aucoin, 35, was apprehended on December 15, 2023, at 5:55 pm on multiple charges including three counts of simple burglary, criminal trespass, attempted theft, and resisting arrest or officer.

In early December 2023, deputies were called to a Bayou Vista home following a burglary report. The officers collected evidence and initiated an investigation, which was later handed to the SMPSO Investigations Division for further scrutiny.

During the investigation process, Bobby Aucoin emerged as the prime suspect in the series of burglaries. On December 15th, a detective located Aucoin and took him in for questioning concerning the Bayou Vista burglaries. Aucoin confessed to his involvement in the crimes during the interrogation session.

Following his confession, Aucoin was arrested and taken to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been determined as of yet.
