Suspect Arrested in Baldwin Stabbing Investigation

A Baldwin man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred Friday morning. Baldwin Police Chief Harry J. Smith said that on Friday morning around 11:00 am, officers were dispatched to a stabbing in the area of Orphan Home Road. One victim was transported to a local hospital. The extent of injuries is unknown at this.

Through the course of the investigation, Darrell Harris was identified as the suspect. He was apprehended without incident, transported & then booked into the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center on the charge of Aggravated Second Degree Battery. No bond has been set.

Smith thanked the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for assisting with the arrest.
