A portion of David Drive in Patterson is closed after a section of the road buckled Thursday. Public works crews placed barricades in the 600 block of the street after the concrete buckled due to recent weather conditions.
Patterson Mayor Rodney Grogan told KQKI News Thursday evening that the buckling was likely caused from a recent drought, followed by heavy rains the last few weeks. He said those conditions have caused swelling and then separation of the infrastructure, with more similar issues expected in months to come.
Grogan said a crew is expected to assess the situation on Friday, with repairs to possibly begin early next week, depending on weather conditions.
