Stephensville Home Sustains Damage in Christmas Day Fire

Shortly after 8:30 pm on Christmas Day, the Stephensville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Susan Court in reference to a structure fire. Units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the chimney area of a two story home.

Out of precaution and due to the size of the home and fire conditions, the Morgan City Fire Department was contacted for mutual aid. The fire was quickly brought under control with minimal fire spread due to the quick knock down made by firefighters There were no injuries reported to firefighters or civilians.

Stephensville Fire Chief Jody D. Acosta said, “I’m so incredibly proud of our men and women that left their families on Christmas Day to respond to this fire. The excellent stop made by our guys is a testament of our training, hard work and dedication.”
