CENTERVILLE, LA – The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office (SMPSO) is set to construct a new Central Branch Office, a move that will significantly boost its ability to serve the community. Located along Highway 90 West, just before the Centerville/Burns Point Exit, the strategically positioned facility will consolidate key divisions under one roof, fostering enhanced collaboration, streamlined operations, and improved service delivery.

The facility will house the Criminal Division, Motor Pool, Investigations Division, Patrol Division, Administrative Offices, Evidence Processing Area, Media Room, and Dispatch/Communications Area. Currently scattered across separate facilities, the consolidation of these departments promises to:

  • Enhance inter-divisional communication and coordination
  • Streamline operations and administrative tasks
  • Bolster efficiency in investigations and patrol services
  • Support the use of updated equipment to further enhance SMPSO services

The new Central Branch Office represents a major investment in the future of law enforcement in St. Mary Parish, aligning with the Sheriff’s Office commitment to professionalism and community-focused service.

Request for Qualifications Issued

The SMPSO has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Pre-construction and Construction Management at Risk Services for the facility. The project aims to create a state-of-the-art law enforcement substation that meets the evolving needs of the community. Interested contractors and the curious public can access the RFQ information and files at www.stmaryso.com/new-branch-office-project.
