UPDATE: 7:50 am- The investigation is ongoing but the roadway is open.
ORIGINAL STORY: St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Desonier Road in the Sorrell area. Multiple residences in the vicinity have been struck by gunfire. At this time, there are no reported injuries, and the damage appears to be limited to property.
Deputies are actively working the scene and gathering information. Out of an abundance of caution, the public is advised to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing.
