Earlier Wednesday evening, a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputy was responding to a one-vehicle crash near Garden City when his unit left the roadway and crashed on Highway 182.
The deputy was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office said they are thankful that he was not injured more seriously, and reminded motorists that the weather is rainy this week, and to exercise caution on wet roadways.
