Sheriff’s Office Working With Schools To Make Them Safer

On Thursday and Friday, August 4-5, 2022, St. Mary Parish Deputies traveled to three locations with Captain Chris Veillion to assist him in teaching the ALERRT (Civilian Active Attack Response) training course to the teachers and administration of 5 schools in St. Mary Parish.

The course is being done in an effort to make schools safer for the 2022-2023 school year.

So far, training has been presented to St. Mary Parish School Administrators/Principals, Central Catholic, Immanuel Baptist, Hanson Memorial High School, St. John Elementary, and Glencoe Charter.
