The Morgan City Police Department and Chief Chad M. Adams have announced that, following discussions with Central Catholic High School and Central Catholic Elementary, a Safety Resource Officer has now been appointed to ensure the security of both schools. This achievement was made possible through the contribution of an anonymous private donor who sought to safeguard the children attending these schools.

Officer Amanda Scoggin, who has served in the Morgan City Police Department for two years, will now take on the role of Safety Resource Officer for Central Catholic schools. Recently, she completed her state certification as a School Resource Officer in Louisiana. In her new capacity, Officer Scoggin will be responsible for overseeing campus safety while engaging with students, faculty members, staff, and parents.
