Pierre Part Man Arrested on Battery Charges

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jason Michael Landry, 51, of 4036 Highway 70, Pierre Part, LA, on felony charges arising from a disturbance on Mike Street on Saturday evening.

 

Deputies were dispatched to the location and made contact with all parties involved in this matter.

 

Detectives initiated an investigation and determined that Jason Michael Landry went to the residence in question in search of goods he observed at the location that he believed had been stolen from him some time ago.

 

At some point as the discussion progressed, a physical confrontation erupted between Jason Michael Landry and two adult individuals.  The situation escalated, which ultimately led to Jason Michael Landry sustaining a gunshot wound to a foot.  Additionally, a male individual sustained serious injuries and was transported to a healthcare facility for treatment.  Jason Michael Landry was also treated for the injuries he sustained.

 

As a result of the investigative findings, warrants were issued for the arrest of Jason Michael Landry.

 

On Monday morning Jason Michael Landry turned himself into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

 

*Second Degree Battery

*Simple Battery

 

Jason Michael Landry was incarcerated and released on a $35,000 bond.  This investigation is ongoing.
