PATTERSON, La. — A Patterson man already in custody is facing hundreds of additional charges following an ongoing investigation by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Henry Rabelo, 42, of Patterson, was arrested on May 13, 2026, at 7:13 p.m. on a warrant charging him with 492 counts of child sexual abuse material and six counts of sexual abuse of animals.
The investigation began on April 13, 2026, when detectives executed a search warrant that led to Rabelo’s arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
As the investigation continued, detectives discovered additional illicit images on a device belonging to Rabelo. Based on that evidence, investigators obtained a warrant for the expanded charges.
Rabelo was formally charged on May 12, 2026, and remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office said it remains a committed affiliate of the Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a network of law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting high-tech crimes against children.
Officials are also encouraging parents and guardians to remain vigilant about their children’s online activity and to report suspicious behavior to law enforcement.
