The Morgan City Police Department said they received reports of a single vehicle crash at around 10:10 am on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that the vehicle had veered off the road and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle lost their life due to the impact of the crash. The identity of the victim is currently being withheld.
There was one passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted but has now returned to normal.
