KQKI News has confirmed that a fatal boating accident in Lower St. Martin Parish. A spokesman with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries tells KQKI News that officials received a call Monday night around 10:00 pm about an overdue boater in Lower St. Martin.
At approximately 9:00 am Tuesday morning, the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office found the body of the missing boater. The boat involved in the accident was a commercial vessel. Therefore, the United States Coast Guard will be investigating the accident.
