MORGAN CITY, Louisiana – Ochsner St. Mary administrator Jennifer Wise said on Wednesday, Sept. 18 that while the hospital experienced significant damage from Hurricane Francine, the emergency room, medical laboratory, cardiopulmonary, wound care and infusion, and radiology units all remain open and fully operational.

In addition, Wise said Ochsner clinics in the Morgan City area are fully operational. Clinicians were seeing normal volumes of patients, and there was no need for Ochsner patients to travel outside the community.

Wise said that in the meantime, Ochsner is working closely with its community partners, local officials and elected leaders to ensure St. Mary returns to full operation as soon as possible.

The hospital can be reached at 985-384-2200, and online appointments are available through the MyOchsner patient portal.

For patients who need of care outside of the services available at Ochsner St. Mary, the hospital is facilitating transfers to other campuses in the Ochsner Bayou region. Wise said Ochsner St. Mary anticipates a return to full operation in the coming weeks, and the top priority is restoring services and keeping care local.

To schedule an appointment at any Ochsner location, call 866-624-7637 or visit www.ochsner.org/info.
