According to the Morgan City Fire Department, shortly after 4 am on Wednesday, the MCFD was dispatched to the 900 block of Short Street in Morgan City for a residential structure fire. The first arriving apparatus, Engine 5, reported smoke and fire coming from the front of the structure. The home sustained significant fire and smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No firefighter or civilian casualties reported.
