NAPOLEONVILLE — Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Bruce Anthony Charles, 34, of New Orleans, on multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began on June 16, 2026, after deputies received a complaint from a woman who reported being threatened by a former domestic partner. During interviews with detectives, the victim stated that she and the suspect share a child but are no longer in a relationship.
As part of the investigation, detectives reviewed electronic communications allegedly sent by Charles. According to investigators, the messages contained threats of violence directed toward the complainant, the couple’s child, and the complainant’s fiancé. Detectives also identified a prior history of violence involving the suspect.
Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Charles on June 17, 2026.
Charles was transferred to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on June 23, 2026, and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on the following charges:
• Terrorizing (2 counts)
• Cyberstalking
• Telephone Communications, Improper Language, and Harassment
Charles remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
