Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon has announced the arrest of 44-year-old Jarred Griffin, of New Orleans, for contractor fraud. Griffin, who operates Alpha Contractors in Houma, Louisiana, was accused of failing to fulfill a contract to build a structure after accepting a deposit from a local resident in Pierre Part.
The investigation began when the complainant reported that Griffin had agreed to construct the project but never returned to start the work. Despite numerous attempts to contact him, the complainant received no response. The case was subsequently referred to detectives, who discovered that neither Griffin nor Alpha Contractors held the necessary licenses to perform contracting services in Louisiana.
An arrest warrant for residential contractor fraud was issued on November 15, 2018. On March 30, 2026, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office apprehended Griffin based on the warrant from Assumption Parish. He was transferred to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on April 7, 2026, and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Griffin is currently incarcerated and awaiting a bond hearing.
