Napoleonville Man Arrested On Identity Theft Charge

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Thomas M. Wilcox, 62, of 4222 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges arising out of financial fraud activity.

Wilcox’s accomplice, Bonnie Ann Wilcox, was arrested on May 10, 2022, in connection with the same crime.

On or about January 24, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office received an identity theft and bank fraud complaint regarding the bank account of a recently deceased individual.

Detectives interviewed relatives of the decedent and were advised that the deceased person’s bank account had been accessed fraudulently and several transactions were conducted in which an amount less than $1,000 had been stolen.

Through investigation, detectives identified Thomas M. Wilcox and Bonnie Ann Wilcox as suspects. It was determined that all of the illegal transactions occurred after the death of the decedent.

As a result of the investigative findings, detectives obtained warrants of arrest for Thomas M. Wilcox and Bonnie Ann Wilcox.

Thomas M. Wilcox was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

  • Felony Identity Theft
  • Misdemeanor Theft

Thomas M. Wilcox was release on a $20,000 bond. Bonnie Ann Wilcox was previously arrested.
