Motorcycle Catches Fire After Crash, Driver Flees Scene

A crash resulting in motorcycle catching fire is under investigation in Franklin. On Sunday at 5:42 pm, Franklin Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Iberia and Alpha Streets in reference to a motorcycle on fire.

Franklin Assistant Fire Chief Justin Martin said Sunday evening that the dirt bike caught fire due to a wreck. He said no other vehicles were involved and the driver fled the scene prior to the fire department’s arrival.

There were no injuries reported and the street was closed for approximately 25 minutes.
