Morgan City Woman Charged with Financial Crimes

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kristy Renee Rulf, 46, of 1005 Carla Court, Morgan City, LA on multiple felony charges arising from a check cashing scheme at a Pierre Part retail outlet.

On February 9, 2024, Assumption Parish Sheriff’ detectives initiated an investigation regarding forged checks cashed at the business.

Detectives determined that on November 21, 2023, three individuals entered the business establishment and cashed checks which had been forged.

Detectives were able to identify all three suspects who presented the forged instruments for cashing.  One of those individuals was identified as Kristy Renee Rulf.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives issued arrest warrants for the three suspects, one of which was Kristy Renee Rulf.

On Thursday morning, Kristy Renee Rulf turned herself into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and was booked on charges of:

*Identify Theft

*Bank Fraud

*Access Device Fraud

*Forgery

*Monetary Instrument Abuse

Kristy Renee Rulf remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

 Rulf is the second suspect arrested in connection to this case.
