Victim Identified in Early Morning Shooting

UPDATED 4:36pm 6/13/24:
Sheriff Gary Driskell announced that the victim who died in a shooting in Verdunville is Keith Robinson Sr., 44, of Verdunville.

At 5:36 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024, deputies were dispatched to a call of a person shot in the 400 block of Verdun Lane. Upon arrival, the gunshot victim, identified as Robinson,was found inside the residence. First responders arrived and rendered aid but Robinson succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

The suspect has been identified and questioned. At this time, no charges will be filed. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the public is asked to contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office if anyone has any information regarding this incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:

At 5:36 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the Verdunville area. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a man inside a residence who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders to render aid, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives are currently investigating the incident but do not believe there is an active threat to the public at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
