Major Structure Fire in Ricohoc

Fire departments from Centerville, Franklin and Patterson responded to a major structure fire in Ricohoc on Thursday morning. Firefighters were dispatched at 11:32 am in reference to a large fire in the area of Sandy Lane and Hunting Road Black with black smoke visible from the Highway 90/Atchafalaya River bridge.  Fire units arrived and found a fiberglass building on fire.. Also assisting at the scene were St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and Acadian Ambulance, although there were no initial reported injuries.
