Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Launches 30th Annual Christmas Bicycle Giveaway for Children in Need

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Craig Webre, is currently accepting applications for its 30th Annual Christmas Bike Giveaway. The program, which began in 1992, has provided more than 5,200 bikes to underprivileged families in the community, including 200 this year alone.

Applications can be submitted at LPSO.net/BikeGiveaway until the deadline on Wednesday, December 7, 2023. Due to the overwhelming response each year, families are advised to limit their requests to a maximum of two bikes per household and ensure that the children reside in Lafourche Parish. While the sheriff’s office will strive to accommodate all requests, they cannot guarantee that every applicant will receive a bicycle. Selected recipients will be notified on the delivery date.

The public is encouraged to make contributions to support this initiative. The Lafourche Deputies Association is accepting monetary donations in the form of cash, checks with “Bike Giveaway” in the memo line or money orders at all LPSO offices. Additionally, new bike donations can be dropped off at any Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office location throughout the parish.
