On Friday, January 20, 2023, the Jeanerette Police Department along with the Jeanerette Marshal Office observed 25-year-old Javontrae Richard, of Jeanerette, who had a known felony fugitive warrant.
During the execution of the warrant officers reportedly located five firearms, marijuana, various pills, codeine and cash inside Richard’s vehicle. Also located inside the vehicle was 28- year-old Royce Morris of Jeanerette. Additionally, officers reportedly found evidence linking 37-year-old Jared Eugene of Jeanerette to the vehicle.
Richard was arrested on several charges which included possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession with the intent schedule ll, possession with the intent schedule IV, monies derived from drug transactions, possession of a stolen firearm, possession with the intent schedule 1, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and a fugitive warrant.
Morris was arrested for the following charges, five counts of possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession with the intent schedule ll, possession with intent schedule ll, possession with intent schedule IV, possession with intent schedule 1, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Eugene was booked on the following charges, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of schedule l and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
All were transported to the Iberia Parish Jail and are being held without bond.
