J.S. Aucoin Elementary School Placed on Cautionary Lockdown Due to Possible Shots Fired in Area

J.S. Aucoin Elementary School in Amelia was briefly placed on a cautionary lockdown Tuesday morning due to a report of possible shots fired in the area of the school. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the school at 8:50 am. St. Mary Superintendent of Schools Dr. Teresa Bagwell was on the campus at the time of the incident and told KQKI News that the lockdown was lifted shortly before 9:00 am.
