Houma Police Make Arrest in Shooting Incident

The Houma Police Department arrested Kayden Ledet, 18 years of age, in a shooting incident that happened in Houma last night near the corner of Roussell and Main Street.

Ledet was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm and simple criminal damage to property.

The gunshots appeared to have been fired into the air during an altercation and caused damage to the Whitney Bank Building.

The Houma Police Department Officers, TPSO Deputies and many other first responders were quickly able to secure the area and encourage anyone who see’s something suspicious on a parade route to please contact them.

This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released at a later date and time.
