On September 25th, 2023, at around 7:45 pm, Anthony Whitley was arrested by the Houma Police Department after a high-speed chase that began in East Houma and ended in Schriever. Officers attempted to pull Whitley over for running a stop sign, but he refused to stop, leading them on a pursuit.
The chase concluded when Whitley pulled over and exited his vehicle but was apprehended after a brief altercation. Whitley was also found in possession of methamphetamine, a crack pipe, and $602 in cash. Furthermore, he had two outstanding arrest warrants from other agencies.
Consequently, Whitley faces multiple charges, including failure to stop and yield, following too closely, failure to appear for jury duty, expired inspection sticker, turning signal requirement violation, aggravated flight, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute CDS II, resisting arrest by force or violence, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
