Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre has reported that a man from Houma is wanted on four counts of attempted murder following a shooting event in Thibodaux on Tuesday. An arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Nehru Davis.
Deputies were dispatched to an apartment on Meadow Circle in Thibodaux at 12:15 a.m. on August 1, 2023, after receiving reports of gunfire. The front door and a window of the residence were struck by bullets, with several individuals, including three children, inside the home.
Detectives determined Nehru Davis had sent menacing messages to the female occupant of the apartment. After the shooting, he continued to send texts and made a phone call to the woman. Based on their findings, investigators secured an arrest warrant for Davis on charges of four counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and aggravated property damage.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are collaborating with Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators to locate Davis, who is considered armed and dangerous. The public is urged to dial 911 if they spot him.
