After reviewing the evidence collected during the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Melancon, who also had three other outstanding warrants on unrelated charges.

Melancon was arrested at his workplace without any issues and is currently detained at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. He is held on a total bond of $40,700 set by local judges. Meanwhile, the victim is recuperating from minor physical injuries sustained during the assault.
