On October 18, 2022, at approximately 8:41 p.m., the New Iberia Police Department received a report of an
individual shot in the 1000 block of Shelton Avenue.
Officers and medics arrived on the scene and located a male, in his 20s, partially in the roadway suffering from
a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives responded and took over the investigation.
The identity of the victim is being withheld. As information becomes available it will be released.
