LOCKPORT, La. — A Harvey man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Lafourche Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop C responded shortly after 2 a.m. on May 25 to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 308 near Valentine Drive in the Lockport area.
The preliminary investigation revealed that 29-year-old Kevin Porter of Harvey was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima southbound on LA Highway 308 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
State Police said Porter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A toxicology sample was collected and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
