Greg Aucoin Elected as St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court

With the current clerk, Cliff Dressel, retiring after a long tenure, Judge Greg Aucoin has been elected unopposed as the new Clerk of Court and will be taking office in July 2024.

In an interview with KQKI’s Brady Borel, Greg Aucoin said he was “honored and humbled” to be elected without opposition and is looking forward to a smooth transition into the role. When asked about his plans for the remaining months leading up to his term, Aucoin shared that he intends to spend a lot of time at the clerk’s office familiarizing himself with its administrative aspects.

Aucoin, who has extensive experience as a judge and assistant district attorney, believes he is familiar with how St. Mary Parish courts operate. However, he acknowledges that the administrative side of the role will require adjustment.
