Franklin Reminding Residents of State Wide Burn Ban

by KQKInews
1 minutes read

Within half an hour on Thursday, authorities in Franklin reported two instances of trash and debris being burned within the city’s boundaries. The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s burn ban is still in effect.

Residents are reminded not to burn anything, as the ban includes open flames in fire pits, campfires, barrels, bonfires, and other open burning activities. Outdoor cooking is permitted, but taking necessary safety precautions is crucial to avoid citations due to fire emergencies. Additionally, while mowing and yard work are not prohibited, residents are advised to exercise caution while operating hot machinery near dry grass to prevent potential fire hazards.
