A marsh fire south of Highway 90 in Calumet eventually burned itself out, although local firefighters kept an eye on it until early Wednesday morning.

Patterson Fire Chief Scott Hutton tells KQKI News that firefighters got as close as they could to the fire, which eventually burned out on its own late Tuesday night. He said fire crews from Patterson Volunteer Fire Department remained on scene until approximately 10:00 pm. However, Hutton said he continued to check on the fire until approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday.
