Firefighters Battle Major House Fire in Franklin

Fifteen area firefighters were kept busy late Wednesday night into Thursday morning as they fought a major house fire in Franklin. Wednesday night at 11:23 pm, Franklin Fire Department and Centerville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire on Antigo Alley. Upon arrival of the first engine, firefighters reported a fully-involved structure fire and requested an additional tone for all available manpower and mutual aid from Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department

Firefighters quickly placed hoses and equipment into service to protect adjacent structures and extinguish the fire, which was under control by 12:31 am Thursday morning.

There were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters. The structure is a total loss and the cause of the fire is still under investigation  The Red Cross has been contacted to assist the family.

Franklin Police Department was on scene for traffic control and Acadian Ambulance remained on standby.
