IBERIA PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning Tuesday, July 5, work will begin on a $4.3 million project on La. 87 in Iberia and St. Mary Parishes.

The project will begin 0.65 miles southeast of the intersection at La. 3182 and end 0.07 miles southeast of the intersection at La. 670.

Work will consist of milling, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, clearing and grubbing, drainage structures and related work.

Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 11-foot width restriction and intermittent lane closures for the duration of the project, except for during the cross drain replacement operations, where road closures will be necessary and detour routes will be posted.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area, except for the duration of the road closures.

This project is estimated for completion in January 2023.
