On December 10, 2021, Officers with the New Iberia Police Department responded to a Domestic Disturbance in the 1100 block of Cherokee Street.
During the investigation, Officer recovered approximately 36 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 23 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 174 grams of suspected cocaine, and a firearm.
Officers were able to identify the suspect as Willie Francisco (34) of New Iberia. Due to Francisco no longer being on scene, Officers obtained an arrest warrant on Francisco for the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone
Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone
Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
On December 11, 2021, Officers located Francisco in the area of South Hopkins Street and Lombard Street going into a residence. Francisco was taken into custody. A subsequent search of the residence yielded a firearm, suspected narcotics, and currency.
Francisco was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the warrant and additionally charged with:

Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of Stolen Firearms
Obstruction of Justice
Transaction involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
