Coach Tommy Minton Announces Retirement After Almost Four DecadesVeteran football coach Tommy Minton has announced that he will be stepping down from his coaching position with Vandebilt Catholic at the end of this year to retire. Minton, widely known for leading the Patterson Lumberjacks to the State Championship twice, later continued his successful coaching career at Central Catholic and Vandebilt Catholic.

With a remarkable coaching span of nearly four decades, Minton shared a heartfelt message on X on Tuesday, stating, “I just informed my team that for the first time in 38 years, I won’t be coaching football next year. I have retired! I will greatly miss the relationships and working alongside so many outstanding men. Thank you all for the wonderful memories! It seems like it’s finally time to tackle that ever-growing ‘honey do’ list!”
