The City of Morgan City is giving the community an opportunity to celebrate 4th of July with two days of festivities. On Saturday, July 1, from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm, live music, kids activities as well as food and beverages will be offered at Lake End Parkway. Kids activities will include a train, inflatables and more. Live music from the judges stand will begin at 11:00 am with Southern Roots, followed by Cliff and the Sidepiece Band at 3:00 pm and South 70 at 3:00 pm. Spectators are invited to arrive by land or water. Those wishing to enjoy the live music on their boat may tune-in to 87.7 FM on their radio. The city will also host its 2nd annual 4th of July Boat Parade on Tuesday, July 4. Boaters are invited to show their American pride by decorating their boats with red, white and blue. Judging will begin at 2:00 pm with prizes being awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for the most festive boat. The winners will be announced on Friday, July 7.
Then at 9:00 pm, the annual 4th of July Fireworks will be held over Lake Palourde. KQKI is the exclusive radio station to air the patriotic soundtrack that will be synchronized to the fireworks. To listen to the soundtrack, you may tune-in to KQKI 95.3 FM or gather around the judges stand to enjoy the fireworks and hear the music.
