Camp on Fire, Injured Victim Reported in Water Near Burns Point

On Sunday evening, just before 7:00 pm Centerville Volunteer Fire Department, Franklin Fire Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office road and boat patrols and Acadian Air Med were dispatched to the area of Bayou Sale, near Burns Point, in reference to a camp on fire and an injured victim in the water.  The fire was out when firefighters arrived and the victim had been picked up by a boater.

A spokesman with Centerville Volunteer Fire Department told KQKI News that a male victim sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette by Acadian Air Med.
