UPDATE 01-19-2024

The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for the City of Morgan City.

A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for the entire City of Morgan City and Water District #1 in Amelia. Morgan City Public Works Director Bill Cefalu told KQKI News that it’s due to an equipment malfunction and higher than normal turbidity levels, which determine water clarity. Residents should boil water for a minimum of minute before consumption or cooking.  Cefalu said the advisory should last approximately 1 -2 days.
