Chief Leonard reports the following arrests beginning from Friday May 23, 2025
Chance Bourgeois W/M 18 of Patterson was arrested on Friday May 23, 2025 at 6:09 AM for
- WARRANT- MISDEMEANOR CARNAL KNOWLEDGE
On May 19, 2025 the Berwick Police Department received a carnal knowledge complaint where Bourgeois was named as a suspect. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that Bourgeois had been in an intimate relationship with a 16 year old juvenile. Evidence and statements were obtained linking Bourgeois to the crime of Carnal Knowledge, and warrants were prepared for his arrest. On May 23, 2025 Bourgeois turned himself in to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above warrant and later released on a $7,500.00 bond.
Ralph Charlot B/M 28 of Berwick was arrested on Friday May 23, 2025 at 10:50 AM for
- BATTERY OF A DATING PARTNER
On May 23, 2025 at approximately 10:08 AM the Berwick Police Department responded to a residence in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the parties involved and learned that Charlot had committed a battery on a female victim during the disturbance. Charlot was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charge.
- Juvenile W/M 16 of Berwick was arrested on Friday May 23, 2025 at 9:49 PM for
- RESISTING AN OFFICER
- POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY JUVENILE
- POSSESSION OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS BY JUVENILE
On May 23, 2025 at approximately 09:45 PM officers came into contact with a juvenile. While speaking with the juvenile, he fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later. Through the investigation, it was learned that the juvenile had threw a firearm on the ground while fleeing from officers and was also found to be in possession of Tobacco Products. The firearm was located and collected. The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charges. Following the booking process, the juvenile was released to a parent pending a court hearing.
Jonathan Beadle W/M 34 of Morgan City was arrested on Friday May 23, 2025 at 11:54 PM for
- WARRANT- 16TH JDC FAILURE TO APPEAR
- POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On May 23, 2025 at approximately 11:17 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after investigating suspicious activity coming from a local business. Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Beadle. While speaking with Beadle, it was learned that he had an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Through the course of the stop, Beadle was found to be in possession of Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. Beadle was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the active warrant. Beadle was issued a summons to appear in court for the Marijuana and paraphernalia.
Juvenile B/M 14 of Berwick was arrested on Sunday May 25, 2025 at 1:02 PM for
- SIMPLE BATTERY
On May 25, 2025 officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to a battery that occurred. Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses and the victim who stated the juvenile had committed the battery. Prior to officer’s arrival, the juvenile attempted to leave the residence, however was located shortly after. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked and released to a guardian pending a court hearing.
