Belle Rose Woman Charged with Aggravated Arson

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Aline Marie Joseph, 36, of 173 Frank Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on felony charges related to a house fire at the aforementioned address on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to Aline Marie Joseph breaking windows on a vehicle. Deputies were then advised that Aline Joseph was armed. As the deputy approached the Frank Lane area, he observed billowing smoke rising from the rear of Frank Lane. Upon arrival, the deputy was advised that Aline Marie Joseph was running towards a wooded area. The deputy and his K-9 engaged Joseph into a foot pursuit and were able to arrest her.
During the ensuing investigation, deputies were able to connect Joseph to a house fire at 173 Frank Lane. During that fire, two automobiles were damaged.
Deputies were able to recover evidence of arson and subsequently identified Aline Marie Joseph as the suspect.
Aline Marie Joseph was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Arson of an Inhabited Dwelling
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Disturbing the Peace
Aline Marie Joseph remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
