Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brittany Businelle Kelly, 32, of 157 Felicia Street, Bayou L’Ourse on a warrant charging her with Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish for arraignment on felony drug charges.
Brittany Businelle Kelly was previously arrested in Assumption Parish on charges of Possession of Schedule II and Schedule I drugs and as a result was ordered to appear in court for arraignment on May 24, 2021, and failed to do so.
As a result, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Brittany Businelle Kelly on May 27, 2021, and has remained at large.
On Wednesday, a uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Brittany Businelle Kelly and initiated an interview of her.
The investigating deputy conducted a warrants check on Brittany Businelle Kelly and found that she was wanted on a warrant for Failure to Appear.
Brittany Businelle Kelly was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on May 24, 2021, on Counts of:
-Possession of Schedule I Drug to Wit: Heroin
-Possession of Schedule II Drug to Wit: Methamphetamine
Brittany Businelle Kelly remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
