Baldwin Man Arrested in Connection with Bollard Street ShootingBaldwin Police Chief Anthony Gibson has confirmed the apprehension of 27-year-old Baldwin local Devon Marks, relating to the shooting incident that occurred on January 28, 2024, in the vicinity of Bollard Street. Following thorough investigative work and dialogues with area residents, law enforcement obtained a warrant for Marks’ arrest on multiple charges including Attempted Second Degree Murder, Illegal Firearm Possession by a Previously Convicted Felon, and Unauthorized Carrying of a Weapon. Marks was taken into custody at the St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, where he is being held with bond set at $600,000.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 11:47 a.m. on Sunday, a Baldwin Police Department officer was on routine patrol when he heard multiple gunshots in the vicinity of Bollard and Lockley Streets. Responding units arrived quickly to the scene to discover a man suffering from a gunshot injury.

Medical personnel transported the injured individual to a nearby medical facility, where he has been reported as being in stable condition.

Baldwin’s Police Chief, A. Gibson, thanked the St Mary Sheriff’s Office, Chitimacha Police Department, Baldwin Fire Department, and Acadian Ambulance service for their response to the incident.
