Assumption Parish Sheriff Warns Residents of Resurfacing Gift Card Scam

NAPOLEONVILLE – In Assumption Parish, Sheriff Leland Falcon cautions residents about the return of an old scam. People have been receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to represent religious groups, asking for gift cards to assist those facing medical or personal difficulties.

To ensure the calls are legitimate, residents are advised not to send money or gift cards until they have confirmed the request with their religious organization leaders.
