BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Steven James Morris, 36, of 115 Doris Street, Morgan City, LA, on felony charges arising from a complaint lodged by a Bayou L’Ourse retail outlet on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
Deputies were dispatched to the business on Thursday and interviewed management who indicated that an individual attempted to purchase items with counterfeit or altered currency. When the individual was advised that the first bill was faulty, he presented a second bill that was also altered. The male subject indicated that he would go to his car to retrieve his debit card. The suspect left and never returned.
Investigating deputies viewed security footage which was ultimately posted to social media. Within minutes of that publication, Sheriff’s officials received numerous calls in which Steven James Morris was identified as the suspect.
Deputies secured an arrest warrant for Steven James Morris. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Morris on Saturday.
Steven James Morris was transferred and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Saturday, October 8, 2022 on charges of:
*Monetary Instrument Abuse
Steven James Morris remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael J. Landry, 63, of 101 Breaux Street, Pierre Part, LA, on multiple counts of telephone harassment arising out of repetitive harassing and obscene calls the suspect allegedly made to a local business establishment.
Deputies were dispatched to the business and made contact with management who advised that Michael J. Landry had been continuously calling and requesting to speak to employees.
Each time, Landry began to make sexually suggestive statements. During the time deputies were answering the complaint, Landry called several times and deputies were able to eventually intercept the call and speak to Landry.
Deputies located Michael J. Landry in the 100 block of Comeaux Street and initiated an interview with him.
At some point, deputies learned that Michael J. Landry had been previously arrested, accused of making improper communication via 911 in Terrebonne Parish.
Deputies determined that Michael J. Landry in both incidents were one in the same person.
Michael J. Landry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Telephone Communications; Improper Language, Harassment
Michael J. Landry remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dwayne Rainey, Jr., 41, of 12400 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA, on a fugitive warrant from Lafourche Parish as well as local charges in Assumption Parish.
On Sunday evening, deputies responded to a local apartment complex near Napoleonville in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Deputies responded but did not locate anyone. The suspect caller made at least 7 calls to Assumption 911 on Sunday, all of which deputies responded to.
Investigating deputies suspected that the caller was using a fictitious name. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Upon arrival, deputies were able to identify the suspect as Dwayne Rainey, Jr. Deputies further learned that Rainey was wanted on criminal charges in Lafourche Parish.
Dwayne Rainey, Jr, was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Resisting an Officer – 4 Counts
*Criminal Mischief
*Fugitive Warrant – Lafourche Parish
Dwayne Rainey, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Adam Leroy Hunt, 36, of 129 Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA, on aggravated assault charges arising from a Thursday afternoon incident west of Napoleonville.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 100 block of LA 401 and made contact with several parties including Adam Leroy Hunt. The deputy interviewed several witnesses including Hunt.
At the conclusion of those interviews, deputies concluded that probable cause existed to arrest Adam Leroy Hunt on a charge of aggravated assault with a machete. Deputies did recover the weapon.
While conducting a criminal records check, deputies determined that Adam Leroy Hunt was wanted on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish. Adam Leroy Hunt had previously been arrested on charges of Prohibited Acts and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. As a result of that arrest, Adam Leroy Hunt was ordered to appear in court on September 28, 2022. Adam Leroy Hunt failed to honor the required court appearance resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest on September 29, 2022.
Adam Leroy Hunt was arrested at the site of the Thursday afternoon disturbance and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish
Adam Leroy Hunt remains incarcerated with bond set at $76,201.50.
BERTRANDVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Keenan Ivan Bolden, 22, of 14 Megehee Ct., Waggaman, LA, on a warrant charging him with a probation violation.
Keenan Ivan Bolden was previously arrested on a charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
Keenan Ivan Bolden was convicted in the 23rd Judicial District, Parish of Assumption on August 24, 2022 of that charge. As a result of that conviction, Keenan Ivan Bolden was placed on supervised probation and ordered to comply with a number of special conditions.
Keenan Ivan Bolden violated specific terms of these conditions resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest on September 21, 2022.
Keenan Ivan Bolden was arrested by the Jennings Louisiana Police Department on October 3, 2022. Bolden satisfied local charges in that jurisdiction and was released to Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on Friday.
Keenan Ivan Bolden was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Probation Violation
Keenan Ivan Bolden remains incarcerated without bond.
