Arkansas Man Arrested for Shooting Gun on Highway 90/Atchafalaya River Bridge

Jordan Alexander Renfroe, 20 years of age, Address: Mountain Pine Rd. Hot Springs, Arkansas, arrested on 09/05/2024 @ 3:02 p.m. 

Charges: Illegal Use of Weapons or
Dangerous Instrumentalities

On Thursday, September 05, 2024, at approximately 9:25 a.m., officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to Brashear Ave. near Fifth St. regarding gun shots being fired in the area. Officers arrived and were unable to locate anything.

According to reports, witnesses observed a gray Honda Accord traveling on Highway 90 and an occupant fire several gun shots out of the window which was reported to the Berwick Police Department.

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division collaborated with investigators with the Berwick Police Department in a joint investigation. Investigators were able to locate the vehicle in question in the area of Jones Street in Berwick. A search warrant was executed on the residence when Jordan Alexander Renfroe was developed as a suspect.

Reports indicate that evidence was uncovered linking Renfroe as the subject who allegedly  fired the weapon out of the vehicle. The firearm in question was also recovered and seized by investigators.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Renfroe’s arrest related to the incident. He was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the active arrest warrant and later transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was charged accordingly and incarcerated and now awaits court proceedings.

Morgan City Police Chief Chad M. Adams commended the investigators from the Morgan City and Berwick Police Departments on the collaborative effort in bringing the incident to a quick resolution. He also thanked the witnesses for their quick reports of the incident that led investigators in the right direction that led to the solving of this case. He added, “ A true testament of if you See Something Say Something.”
